In recently, the scarcity of empty containers has been causing sea freight to fluctuate abnormally. Therefore, many shipping lines such as Maersk, Sealand, Hapag Lloyd, and some other shipping lines have booking cancellation fees to avoid customers booking reservations but not export goods, which affects the shipping operations of shipping lines. From May 8, 2021, CMA-CGM Joint Stock Company started to apply the Booking Cancellation Fee for all three shipping lines CMA-CGM, APL and CNC.
Specifically, from May 8, 2021, the CMA shipping line will apply a cancellation fee for goods departing from Vietnam to all ports of destination with the fees as below table:
